ABOUT PRIESTS:
Ichilampady. St George Orthodox Syrian Church was started in 1953 by the active initiation of families who came hailed from Kerala for the Agriculture with the leadership of Late. Rev.Fr.Thomas Vadakkedath celebrated Holy Qurbana in the bamboo shed. Later Late. Rev.Fr Zachariah who came along with Late Lamented H.G. Pathrose Mar Osthathiose took charge of this church. In Between many priest served here which helped a lot in the existence of the parish. Later Late.Rev.Fr A Jacob who served here. During his period he was in charge of other churches here nearby and his valuable service helped in constructing a small church building and served here in the difficult situations. Several priests served in between the periods of Late.Rev.Fr Zachariah and Late.Rev.Fr A Jacob. Later Late Rev.Fr.V Mathews (Joy Achen) Served here for long 11 years and helped in the development of parish. During the period old cross tower, electrification all done initially. Later Rev.V.I Mathews Cor- Eppiscopa (Manikulam Achen) took charge as Vicar and served for long 18 Years. During Achen period church was reconstructed and consecrated By Late Lamented H.H. Baselios Marthoma Mathew II (Catholicos And Malankara Metropolitan) along with Late Lamented H.B. Thomas Mar Themothios (Didymos Bava) along with H.G.Yakob Mar Irenios on February 15th & 16th 2002. This was great Achievements in the milestone of Ichilampady church history. During Achen period present various developments took place as his wish of long vision. Now also Achen is supporting the Church in many ways. During these periods Bishops also supported the church. Especially Late Lamented Zacharias Mar Dyonisius and H.G.Yakob Mar Irenaios. These era of church was considered to be very toughest one, really the service of the priest were great in all the ways.
Later Rev.Fr.V C Jose took the charge as Vicar, During Achens period this parish was declared as “Georgian Pilgrim Centre” by H.G.Yakob Mar Irenios diocesan Bishop during the period. Achen also helped the parish in many ways for the development. Later Rev Fr.Joseph Malayil was vicar for short period. Later Rev.Fr.Eldho M Paul took charge as Vicar. Various developments were done during Achen period. Later Fr.Kuriakose Thomas Pallichira (Fr.Sunil) was the Vicar .Now Very.Rev.G M Scariah Ramban is the vicar. So developments in the parish are in progress as the sincerity of the Priests and also with the support of Parish members and all the devotees of St George. In between as Madras Diocese divided to Bangalore Diocese H.G.Abraham Mar Epiphanios was the Diocian Metropolitan. And 2010 this Bangalore Diocese again divided to Brahmavar Diocese. Now H.G.Yakob Mar Elias is present Duiocisian Metropolitan. So in all ways Spiritual guidelines of the Bishops and sincere work of the priests lead the church as spiritual centre in a meaningful way.
