Surrounded by the breath-taking beauty of the Sahyadri  hill range in the east, by the roaring Arabian Sea in the south, the calm surroundings of the Karavali coast, Hanumagiri stands amidst Udupi and Dakshina Kannada famously called Tulu naadu particularly in a place called Ishwaramangala, located  5 kms south of Sullia. One can notice the plantations of coconut, areca and banana in the plains on one side and varieties of trees, plants and bushes in the hills on the other. Lying in the border of Paduvannur and Nettanige Mudnur villages, this place of Hanuman has been named Hanumagiri.

The monolithic statue  of Panchamukhi  Hanuman standing  at a height of 11 ft., carved out of black stone would not be the only reason for anyone to make a visit to the place, there are carved plaques reciting the glorious story of Ramayana, carvings on rocks and stones facing the lush greenery describing the different episodes of  the life  of Hanuman, statues of Rama and Hanuman symbolizing their harmonious relation. Therefore this feat stands as an example of the sculptural grandeur of this century.

Visits to this place and darshan of Shri Hanuman are free of cost. Devotees can participate in all the religious rites performed here. In order to sustain the religious, cultural and spiritual values among the people in the society, the stories of Rama and Hanuman are recited, memorized and recollected. There are opportunities for Prayers, chants and recitals. The Kshethra is also planning for projects like Annadaan, hospitals and education. For children, youth and elders alike, programmes on awareness of the Indian cultural heritage, and personality development are taken up here. In this place of worship, different kinds of Sevas and rituals are made possible for the devotees- for the remedy to Shanidosha, Shanipooja Seva is made available; to get rid of the difficulties in life, Raashipooja; for the fulfillment of wishes and desires, Rangapooje; and Pavamaana Rathotsava.

The presence of Lord Ram always means the presence of Hanuman, and they are inseparable. And so, naturally and figuratively, there is Ramagiri in Hanumagiri and there is Hanumagiri in Ramagiri. Therefore in Hanumagiri all the five elements of Nature- Earth, Agni, Vaayu, Jal, Akasha are exemplified by the five Mukhas of Hanuman, and this stands as a symbol of the unified spirit of Lord Ram and Lord Hanuman.

• Ishwaramangala (Hanumagiri) can be reached by road from Mangalore, Bangalore, Sullia, Puttur, Mysore etc. KSRTC operates buses on a daily basis from these and other places.
• The nearest airport is the Mangalore International Airport.
• The nearest railway station is Kabaka Puttur railway station on Mangalore-Bangalore railway route. There is daily passenger train services from Mangalore, Bangalore. One can catch a local transport from the station for a journey of 45 minutes to the temple.
