Nelyadi: The Onam Celebration 2026 organized by KNSS Nelyadi Karayogam was held with great pomp and enthusiasm on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at Sabareesh Kala Mandira, Nelyadi. Onam stands as a vibrant symbol of Kerala’s rich cultural heritage, brotherhood, and unity, perfectly reflecting these core values throughout the event.

The celebrations commenced early in the morning with a variety of cultural events and sports competitions. A colorful and intricate Athapooppalam (floral carpet) competition provided a magnificent start to the day, followed by the formal inauguration ceremony. Dignitas lit the traditional lamp to inaugurate the event, emphasizing the significance of Onam and the vital need to preserve our rich culture and traditions.

Talent Felicitation & Cultural Extravaganza

Students from the community who secured stellar achievements in their SSLC and Second PUC board examinations during the previous academic year were felicitated with Pratibha Puraskaram (talent awards). Following the awards, captivating cultural programs and artistic performances entertained the audience. Children, youth, and elders participated with immense zeal, adding unique splendor to the event.

A major highlight of the Onam festivities was the traditional and delicious Onam Sadya (feast), which was relished together by all attendees, fostering a deep sense of camaraderie and fellowship. Fun-filled recreational games and competitions were organized for various age groups later in the day, with prizes distributed to encourage winners.

The grand event concluded successfully with a vote of thanks. The active cooperation and active participation of members, families, and well-wishers made the Onam Celebration 2026 a resounding success.
